The Ionia United Methodist Church is well-known for its Turkey Supper held each year the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This is a major Fundraising Project for the Church.

Another event which is held the third weekend in June is the Celebrate Ionia Festival. This celebration has been held for the past three years at the Ionia Methodist Church and commemorates the history of the Ionia Community.

Vacation Bible School is held for one week during the summer from 5 to 8 p.m. Children from the community are invited to participate in learning Bible stories, making crafts, and recreational games.
